RE:Adage Mason LLC Application for Permit to Build Higher Than Code
Dear Ms. Adkins:
Thank you for your service to the residents of Mason County. We look to you and your employees to protect the health and welfare of our community.
I am writing this letter to ask you to deny Adage the right to build buildings and a smoke stack higher than the 45 foot limit. Some of the reasons are:
The 170 foot smoke stack will send tons of pollution and water vapor into the air in the direct path planes take to Sanderson Field.
The proposed site is located too close to homes, the Mason County Christian School and the Mason County Recreation Facility. It will poison our children and cause too much noise, pollution and traffic in the area.
The Adage plant is nothing like the other companies in the area. It is too large and not right for the area.
There is no way to landscape a building that range from 65 to 150 feet high that will block them from view much less a 170 foot stack spewing smoke.
No matter how careful they are, accidents will happen and chemicals and fumes will be released. They will do damage to the health and welfare of the community.
A plant of this size does not belong in this small industrial park. The plant is too near to parks, schools, homes, hospital, medical offices, senior citizen housing and stores.
Thank you for considering my remarks.
Also, please list me as a Party of Record for the application process Mason County is or will be conducting for the proposed Adage Mason LLC biomass incinerator. Please let me know about any Public Hearing, Public Comment Period, or any Public Notice scheduled by the Department of Community Development regarding this incinerator/boiler applications process.
Sincerely,
